"Foxy Rider"

Margaret Nicastri, Bowie, Maryland

1985 Harley-Davidson Roadster

I wish I had half as much energy as Margaret Nicastri. You should have seen what it took for me to turn this computer on today. I mean, running out the door at lunch and quitting time is about the only exercise I get. Margaret, on the other hand, is full of vim and vigor. She works full time, helps out at local bike shows, and is a member of H.O.G., Leather & Lace, Women On Wheels, and her local ABATE chapter. About three years ago Margaret decided she wanted to learn how to ride. But this lady didn't go rushing into it feet first; she used her head and went about things the logical way. First she got herself a dirt bike (she figured she'd rather beat up on crap than harm a Harley), then she had her ol' man, Roy, teach her the basics, and, finally, in what was perhaps her wisest move, Margaret took a rider training course.

After she felt confident in her abilities, she graduated to this '85 Roadster, built by C&C Cycle (Roy's shop) in Crofton, Maryland. To show off her new bike, Margaret rode it to her sister's bridal shower. It was a definite hit with the family. Her father loves the bike, but doesn't understand why anyone would put all that money into a motorcycle rather than a house. Hey, why ask why?

By the way, ladies, Margaret's always looking for some female riding companions. So if you're in the area, look her up at C&C Cycle.
